Heartsong Family Updates

We love to receive and share pictures and stories about our labradoodles and their families. We've been so fortunate to be able to meet so many wonderful people and to see how much their labradoodle means to them. Below are some recent updates we've received from Heartsong Families.

Ruby and Quincy Weathervane

Judy sent us pictures of a weathervane depicting Quincy and Ruby playing they had made for their house. The artist designed the weathervane from a video of Quincy and Ruby playing. Very cool.

Maggie

Our doodle Maggie is so sweet and gentle and loves to play. We can't wait to get her a companion. Let us know when you're planning your next litter and we'll stay in touch. I'm sending a picture of Maggie. Its a couple years old... will send a more recent one when I have a chance.

Thanks again for including me on your update.

Summer

Bonnie, Just wanted to send you an updated picture of Summer. She is a very good puppy. She loves to swim in the ocean (I'm afraid to see what happens when it gets hot out) and she has no problem just diving in. She is 30lbs, very long and an excellent jumper. She's very alert smart and loves being outside. When she is home alone she is not crated and she doesn't destroy anything. She sleeps with me and my husband, although she loves kids at bedtime she trots upstairs with us for some quiet time . Her favorites toys are tennis balls and stuffed animals. About 50 people have visited your website through seeing Summer.

Hope all's well

Canyon

Happy Holidays to you Bonnie and John!!

We wanted to let you know that we are all doing great! Canyon has been a wonderful addition to our family and everyone just looooves this boy! We just completed puppy obedience last week, Canyon being the youngest in his class, but overall did a great job and met some nice puppies ;o)! We will be starting intermediate obedience in mid-January. Our Foriegn exchange student, Lukas and Canyon have become buds as well and he has enjoyed taking Canyon on walks and playing with him in all this snow we have gotten! Did I mention, Canyon LOVES the snow-he could play in it for hours-I call him our "little snowman". Canyon also loves to play fetch and is very good about bringing his toys back to us too! Canyon weighs about 30 lbs. now and is growing like a weed-too darn fast I think! He is such a handsome and social boy and everyone who meets him would agree! We hope you are both doing well and all of your pooches too! We wish you all a wonderful Holiday Season and Blessed 2011!

Best Wishes,
Paul, Robin & Lukas

Roxie

I feel bad constantly writing you about Roxie but we are so delighted with her we have to tell someone who would appreciate it. First of all she is beautiful, plain and Simple. To assure she looks her best every 6 weeks we take her for a puppy trim to keep the hair off of her eyes and butt so she keeps clean. We walk her regularly and let her play in the back yard with us present. We see that she gets the proper food. She loves riding in the car. When we say bye-bye she immediately heads for the door. She loves going to our local Starbucks. We do that for several reasons. One because she loves it and also because it gives her a chance to intermingle with other people. And finally because it allows us to walk her around while teaching her not to jump on people. She learns so quickly. Any corrections are done with a vocal sound and not a physical reaction. When she needs to go to the bathroom she comes to us and lets us know. She loves getting her baths in the shower. Does she do puppy things that she shouldn't? Absolutely. She is a puppy and when you take on the responsibility of a puppy that is part of it. But the positive outweighs the negative by leaps and bounds. We have never regretted getting her for a second.

As for her friend Palmer the cat, we can't get over their relationship. Cats and dogs are not supposed to get along. Perhaps their ages when they were introduced had a lot to do with it. But to see them cleaning each other just blows our minds. That isn't supposed to happen. They chase each other about the house and are constantly playing. We are careful to put things up we don't want Roxie to play with. That doesn't always work because Palmer knocks them to the floor so Roxie can get them. We believe they are constantly planning together. We call them the Palmer Gang. Both of them sleep in the bed with us.

I know that you hear a lot of success stories about your dogs. Well, put Roxie in the list. We love her to death and thank you again for trusting us to have her in our home.

Picture of Tucker, an Australian Labradoodle
Tucker

Tucker is doing wonderful. We are all settling in as a family and the kids adore him and he adores them. Tucker went to a puppy class and did awesome. He is working on his manners and is so, so, so, smart. He is very playful and amazingly enough our Christmas Tree is still standing-I am very proud of him. Both of the kids take an active role in helping with his training. He is so loving and is now a very special member of our family. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, thank you so much.

Cooper has settled in and is doing very well.

Picture of Juno, an Australian Labradoodle
Lily

Lily is doing great! She definitely has lots of personality! She can be pretty sassy. She even tries to boss around my parents' 50 lb husky/border collie mix male when we go visit. We love her to pieces! She's very smart. We're working on training her & she's learning pretty quickly. She's up to 22lbs now. Here's a Halloween photo of her. Oh, and she still sticks that tongue out like when she was little!

Picture of an Australian Labradoodle
Juno

I just wanted to let you know what a fantastic puppy Juno is. He is funny and lovable and smart. He has so much personality and such a great temperament. Juno has grown about a pound a week - the vet says he is in great shape. She said it was obvious he came from a breeder who knew what they were doing. He is so trainable but also goofy and just fun to be around. He loves to play and zoom around the yard. He loves to get a bath even! He loves water, period. He also loves to get his tummy rubbed and to just hang out with us in the living room. He looks big in this picture with my son - I will send another one from same day where he does not look quite that big. The hardest thing with Juno is that when you take him for a walk in a park you have to leave extra time because everyone is going to stop to meet him. Thanks much.

Picture of Beasley, an Australian Labradoodle
Beasley

Just thought I'd send you a few pics of our beautiful puppy. He's been doing so well, finally, and he's so sweet, naughty and has us both wrapped up in him. He's looking out at our wildlife this afternoon, not as good as Kentucky, but, we have a few ducks, otters and small gator on this lake.

Cooper is doing great and doing very well in training.

Cole is doing well adjusting to his forever home and has a new best friend named 'Misty'. Thank you Lynn for providing such a good home to our boy.

Picture of Maggie, an Australian Labradoodle
Maggie

We received some recent photos of Maggie. What a striking dog she has turned out to be. Her family says that "she is the best dog ever".

Picture of Baily, an Australian Labradoodle
Baily

Hi Bonnie! Wow I can't believe that Bailey is turning two years old this week! We can not tell you how much we love her and what a wonderful first pet she has been for us. My son who was so afraid of dogs a few years ago now LOVES Bailey and it is so fun watching our boys grow up with this wonderful dog! She is a huge part of our family and I really can't remember what it was like before her. Cousin Chaz is also doing well. What sweet, wonderful dogs these two are! Just wanted to share a few pictures and thank you again for providing our family with this blessing! - Kelly

Picture of Eddie, an Australian Labradoodle, in Monterey, wearing Forrest Gump shoes
Eddie

Eddie has been traveling a lot with his family. Recently, he's been to Vermont, the Badlands in South Dakota, got to try on Forrest Gump's shoes in Monterey, and had a blast romping on the beach in Carmel.

Picture of Chester, an Australian Labradoodle Puppie
Chester

Chester is doing great and gets along very well with Bossie. He's taking puppy classes and catches on quick. Anna reports that they've had a lot of snow and Chester just loves to run and frolic in it!

Picture of Heartsong Grady, an Australian Labradoodle Puppy
Grady

Recently adopted Heartsong Grady is doing very well in his new home. Julie and Mike report that they are "over-the-moon-in-love with Grady." He's done very well with his house training and is working on basic obedience. Thanks Julie and Mike for giving Grady such a wonderful home.

Picture of Blossom, an Australian Labradoodle Puppy
Blossom

Blossom is coming up on her first birthday in March. Emily reports she is doing very well, although her love for dirty socks and underwear has been very trying on the family supply, among other things. Blossom is THE sweetest dog. She loves everyone and everyone loves her. She's enjoying the snow this winter, which is a good thing since there has been so much...she loves to jump and hop in it. Blossom looks very much like Ruby, her mama. She has retained her remarkable red coat past her puppy days. She has lots of highlights and is blonder under her chin and on her chest. She virtually glows in the sun. Oh, and she weighs 25 lbs. There's a lot of hair hiding that little dog! Happy Birthday Blossom!
