Bio-Sensor Stimulation

We are using this method of stimulation for all of our puppies born at Heartsong. Research indicates that there are 5 distinct and proven advantages for the puppies.

1. Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate).

2. Stronger heartbeats.

3. Stronger adrenal glands (important for immune system).

4. Increased ability to tolerate stress.

5. Greater resistance to disease.

The exercises help the neurological system by jump-starting it into action earlier than if left to their own. These exercises do not replace normal playing with the puppies, but are in addition to normal stimulation.

The Bio-Sensor program was developed by the military in an effort to improve the performance of dogs used for the military purposes. The program was called “Bio Sensor” and is based on years of detailed research. The results should give the puppy superior advantage over puppies that do not go through the program and the results are said to be lifelong.

The Five Exercises:

1. Tactile stimulation: Holding the puppy in one hand, the handler stimulates the puppy between the toes on any foot using a Q-tip. Time of stimulation is 3 – 5 seconds.

2. Head held erect: Using both hands, the puppy is held perpendicular to the ground, so that it’s head is directly above it’s tail. Time of stimulation is 3-5 seconds.

3. Head Pointed Down: Holding the puppy firmly with both hands, the puppy is turned upside down. Time of stimulation is 3-5 seconds.

4. Supine position: Hold the puppy so that the back is resting in the palm of both hands, head facing the ceiling. Puppy is allowed to sleep struggle. Time of stimulation is 3-5 seconds.

5. Thermal stimulation: Using a damp cloth that has previously been cooled in refrigerator, place puppy on the towel feet down. Do not restrain it from moving. Time of stimulation is 3-5 seconds.
